John Stanfa, also known as "Gigi", is a former Italian-American mobster and reputed boss of the Philadelphia crime family. Stanfa was born in Naples, Italy, in 1940 and immigrated to the United States as a young man. He became involved in organized crime and eventually rose through the ranks to become a powerful figure in the Philadelphia mob.
Stanfa was known for his violent and ruthless methods, earning a reputation as a fierce and feared mob boss. He took over the Philadelphia crime family in the late 1980s, following the death of his predecessor, Nicodemo Scarfo.
